“I’m bending under the weight of it all / I hope the love I gave was never a waste”

My long-term relationship had come to an end whilst travelling South East Asia together, and ‘watch you blur’ was written as I was struggling to sleep before flying back to the U.K. Everything had changed rather abruptly and I was counting down the last time I’d see my partner in the same light. I could feel everything gradually just start to unravel and ‘give way’. I was preparing myself to navigate life without them: watching them do even the most of mundane tasks that I had taken for granted, like being there when they woke up, became something I wanted to remember and hold on to.

Now time has passed, these have quickly become some of my most favourite and raw lyrics. Similarly, so has the sound design - the sea and conversation which you hear most in the intro and outro are field recordings taken from Cambodia itself when we were on the beach together. Synths and pads fill the soundscape and pushed on by a deep kick.
